Substation Relay Technicians
Technical Diagnostic Services is consistently staffing
substation relay technicians in Florida. Must have thorough
knowledge of three phase relay testing procedures. Doble
ProTest experience required. SCADA experience preferred.
These positions involve the testing and maintenance of various
substations throughout the state. Long term assignment with
good rotation for travel home.

assignments in the Utilities and Petrochemical fields throughout
the world. These requests for staffing often come on an
expedited basis and must be filled with short notice. We

positions we frequently staff.
Relay Test Technicians
Protective relay technicians with hands on experience.
Review elementary one-line diagrams and control wiring diagrams.
Perform wire check out and point to point wire tests.
Perform relay commissioning on solid state and microprocessor
utility relays.
Configure solid state and microprocessor relays with settings
files.
Verify solid state relay and microprocessor wiring and configuration.
Troubleshoot solid state and microprocessor relay system.
Verify overall utility relay protection scheme matches original
elementary protection scheme design. Verify circuit integrity
by applying AC or DC current and simulating system functions.
Experience with 3 phase relay test set (Pulsar, Megger, Manta,
or Doble).
Perform testing on line traps, CCVT’s, BCT’s.
Experience testing CT’s, PT’s, and other equipment associated
with protection schematics.
Experience with the following manufacturers’ relays:
Schweitzer Engineering Labs [SEL321, SEL421, SEL311, SEL451,
SEL351, etc.]
GE Utility relays [L60, L90. D60, D30, Multilin 750, Multilin
469, etc.].
Instrument and Controls Technicians
Demonstrated competency in analog and digital process control
loop and instrument maintenance repair and troubleshooting.
Sound fundamentals in the use of measuring and testing equipment
consistent with I/C scope of work. Thorough understanding
of electrical equipment operation, electrical equipment
maintenance requirements and maintenance restrictions imposed
by safety and environmental regulations. Able to perform
corrective and preventative maintenance on facility systems,
equipment, and components, such as instrumentation, control
circuits, pressure and temperature indicators, PLC’s, motor
control centers, motors, HVAC units, and control and power
circuits. Will utilize blueprints, drawings and specifications
in locating and diagnosing trouble in electrical equipment,
control circuits and power systems.
Mechanical Maintenance Technicians
The methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the
maintenance, construction, repair, and operation of complex
mechanical equipment, such as pumps, motors, multi-reduction
gearboxes, hydraulic drives, gas and steam turbines, boilers,
etc.
Chain and socket assemblies, gas compressors, electronic,
pneumatically and hydraulically controlled valves, chemical
handling. Lubrication requirements of pumps and motors.
Principals of operation of pumps, motors, valves, and associated
equipment.
Working knowledge of precision tools.
Electrical Maintenance Technicians
Experienced with repair, maintenance & testing of low,
medium and high voltage electrical apparatus, including
but not limited to: Motors, Circuit Breakers, Distribution
Transformers, and Power Transformers. Experienced with Electrical
Test Equipment, such as: High Potential Test Set, Doble
Power Factor Test Set, Low Resistance Measurement Test Set,
Transformer Turns Ratio Test Set. Experience with proper
use of power tools, drill press, bad saw, hand grinders
and air tools. Ability to read and understand & interpret
instruction books, wiring diagrams & schematics and
company procedures.
UPS Startup Technicians
Technical Diagnostic Services is looking for technicians
to travel around the country doing UPS startups and maintenance.
These are medium voltage battery UPS systems. Specific equipment
training provided. Must have thorough understanding of electrical
theory, ability to read an oscilloscope, and comfortable
performing a small amount of electronic board troubleshooting.
Prefer candidates with electrical training certification
from an approved school, and UPS experience. This is for
a long term assignment. Each project lasts approximately
two months. Meal allowance and housing expenses covered.

Nuclear Plant Scheduler / Consultant
Technical Diagnostic Services is looking for a consultant
with a strong knowledge of nuclear plant operations. This
position will be responsible for showing the client how
to create an integrated critical path schedule. Perform
"what-if" scenarios, educate the client how to
interpret data, analyze, and determine problem factors.
This position will travel to different sites throughout
the country instructing customers on plant data. If you
