John J. Lapicola, P.E.
As founder and President of the Technical Diagnostic Services (TDS) family of companies, Mr. Lapicola brings over 40 years of experience in the energy services industry with particular emphasis in the areas of testing, start-up, maintenance and nuclear plant operations.
Mr. Lapicola graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1968, received his Master’s of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics from the Naval Post Graduate School in 1969, and qualified Engineer of Navy Nuclear Propulsion Plants while serving in the nuclear submarine force. After the Navy, John joined Combustion Engineering Corp., serving as Nuclear Start-up Engineer at Millstone 2 and as site consultant for the start-up of Arkansas Nuclear One Power Plant. He later joined Automation Industries as Operations Manager for their nuclear services department. In 1985 he became President of TBG Industries’ services business in Europe and North America, and in 1987 he received his Executive Management Business Certificate from Stanford University.
Mr. Lapicola is a registered Professional Engineer, a member of the American Nuclear Society, IEEE, American Technical Educational Association and ASTD. He served on the Operations and Maintenance Committee of the Atomic Industrial Forum and is on the Steering Committee of the American Standards Training Institute.
Director of Commissioning & Startup Services
Mike Madigan is the Director of Commissioning and Startup Services at Technical Diagnostic Services (TDS). He is responsible for corporate management of all field and site start-up and commissioning operations as well as development and provision of future TDS services to all sectors of the power generation industry.
Mr. Madigan brings a wealth of power plant field commissioning and management experience to TDS’ Executive Team with over thirty-five years in the industry. He has managed major project commissioning efforts throughout the United States, the far east, middle east, and South America. He comes to TDS from Sterling Energy Commissioning Management, LLC where he was a Managing Partner after having founded the company in 2004.
